Dedications for Space was born through Bottger’s thinking about what it means to be apart from a place yet still connected to it through time and memory, wrapped into small, circular marks. It became an almost obsessive activity of attempting to capture the tension within these spaces through mark-making. These circles, or bubbles, developed into an organized but fuzzy collection that topographically implies our existence within the spaces we inhabit and our relation to what we deem “other.”
