Angus McCullough is a trans-disciplinary maker who works with objects, spaces, sounds, words, and systems. They are interested in the lives of “things,” scales of time, and the sacred acts of repair. Born and raised in New York City, they studied philosophy, music, and architecture at Wesleyan University and in self-created learning situations. They have shaped public spaces, soundscapes, private homes, art installations, bathing sanctuaries, vehicles, books, and forest ponds.
Their work has been shown internationally at venues including the Bronx Museum of the Arts, Roman Susan, Momenta Art, BUOY Gallery, the Bennington Museum, Border Patrol, and SPACE gallery, among others. Angus has been a resident at VCCA, Vermont Studio Center, Monson Arts, Boxo PROJECTS, and ACRE, and has lectured and listened at Syracuse University, Bennington College, and Keene State College. Angus teaches from time to time at Skidmore College, is a founding member of Picture Lock One micro-cinema, and currently lives and works.
